One person I was glad to see at the New Years Party at the Wildey Theater was local artist, Norman Beals and his wife Paula Lando Clare Beals. Norman was originally an extremely talented guitarist and I heard him play once as a teenager, when he was married to my cousin, Donna Guardino. After playing guitar became painful, Norman learned he had Parkinsons Disease and had to give up music as it became harder and harder to play. He then took up art and his paintings have been featured in various local art shows like ArtEast. I know from seeing him at the Stagger Inn occasionally that he still likes to dance, even though he now must lean on a walker to do so. At the party, he and Paula spent a lot of time dancing at the foot of the stage.
