One person was killed in two vehicle head-on accident on Route 16 in Pinkham Notch this morning. State police report a Toyota Sienna caravan traveling north crossed the center line and struck a Pontiac Grand Prix head-on. The driver in the Grand Prix was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Grand Prix was taken to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. The driver and four youth in the van were taken to Memorial Hospital in North Conway. All of the other injuries were deemed non-life threatening. Names of those involved have not been released pending notification of families. The accident occurred around 10:40 near the Appalachian Mountain Club lodge.
