One small change that we can all make for the sake of the future - TopicsExpress

One small change that we can all make for the sake of the future of our environment is to either greatly reduce or completely omit meat and dairy intake from our diet. These stats are phenomenal when you look at the impact of animal farming on the planet. Even if you believe it to be necessary for your health, who cares? Is your health more important than the future of this planet? You wont die or get sick by cutting out meat; vegans and vegetarians have been living healthily throughout human history. Additionally, a study published in Plant Foods for Human Nutrition reveals that one acre of grain produces five times more protein than meat. An acre of beans and peas produces ten times more, and an acre of spinach produces twenty-eight times more protein. We can get all the necessary amino acids from plants too. 40,000 children around the world die each day of malnutrition, and if we were to reduce our meat consumption by only 10%, 12 millions tons of grain would be freed up; enough to feed each of the 60 million people who starve to death each year. inhabitat/veganism-and-the-environment-infographic-shows-the-environmental-impact-of-raising-animals-for-food/
