One smile can say one million words. I remember this time last - TopicsExpress

One smile can say one million words. I remember this time last year like it was yesterday. Lilly was having a relapse scare. She has had 3 scares since she was deemed cancer free. And with each scare the hatred for cancer grows deeper. The fight she must put up every single day even tho she is cancer free is unreal. You think you finish treatment and life will be perfect, or should I say normal. But the longer we are on this journey I have learned our old normal will never be the same normal in this life. Our normal will always entail fighting for Lilly to live. Fighting for fair treatment and being her voice. Normal will always be unknown. But normal will always have my Lillys smile and true happiness she carries in her soul. She has had this smile always. During treatment, with vomit dripping off her face, as she was strapped down time and time again, surgery, her chest wall resection ...everyday this smile has shined threw. And at the end of the day this is the only normal we care about. Wherever this journey takes us we wont let it take our happiness. We will live every moment for what it is, a gift. Watching her little pony tail glimmer in the sun as she ran from baby goat to baby goat then from pumpkin to pumpkin today...was simply perfect, nothing can touch this feeling. Not even cancer. #teamlillybumpus #childhoodcancerawareness #halloween #pumpkinpatch
