One thing I do without fail everyday is go over bible verses with my babies. I ensure they memorise them and know the reference. But I dont stop there; I always ask them what each one means to them. I dont just tell them what it means, I want to know how they interpret them. Their interpretations are so beautiful and genuine. I asked my daughter what Nehemiah 8:10 says and when she told me, I asked her what it means to her. She said it means when God makes you laugh so hard, you become so strong that you can carry a house or a car or a gigantic elephant. It makes me so strong so I can do anything! I was blessed by that! Dont be so bent on having your children memorise, ensure they know what it means so it can work for them. Otherwise they will be like many who just know how to quote but dont have proofs because they dont have understanding. The next time you go over the bible verses with them, find out what they think it means, it will be so refreshing for you to hear and you will sure get a laugh out of it! But most of all, it will fill your heart with so much joy.
