One thing I dont get about social behaviour on Facebook is when people I dont know request my FB friendship without telling me anything about themselves or why they want to connect. The metaphor that comes to mind is being at a party, having a stranger approach, and then standing passively in front of me waiting for me to start a conversation. I care too much about my relationships to start them in a way that leaves absolutely no trace in my mind for future reference. Id be happy to be your friend, but Im not hoarding FB contacts.
