One thing I love about rock music is that one genre has never griped against another genre for attributing rock at the end of the name of the style. Soft Rock, Hard Rock, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Punk Rock, and the list goes on. Is it such a sin for something to be called new country, or bro country, even if you dont like it? Chuck Berry and the Beatles are a far cry from some of the stuff that comes out today, but they all are spins off of a concept - rock. As a matter of fact, older rock was pumped-up blues, but the blues crowd doesnt seem to protest too much. Meh...lol. Oh well, we all like what we like. I personally listen to new country for the instrumentation more than the lyrics, so I can appreciate some of it too.
