One thing Im gonna make sure I teach my kids is to always be polite, especially to their elders. Please, thank you, yes or no sir/maam, etc. I dont do things (like hold open a door) to get praise and acknowledgment from someone but seriously how hard is it to say thanks? Just held the door for a mom, dad, and their 2 kids (ages around 8 or 9) and they just walked on by. Kids follow our examples. We must teach them and lead. If the parents dont even say thanks, I cant expect the kids to either. Cant change how others act but I sure can instill good behaviors on my kids!!
