One thing Ive learned from my days living near Kiryas Joel and watching how they operate is that they know how to get what they want. They fight and have rival sects within their communities but they still manage to vote and manipulate so things go their way. Its disturbing and disgusting, but we can and should learn something from it--hopefully soon, Iike, before the end of the day. Their one and only issue is who is going to continue providing them a tax-free, taxpayer subsidized lifestyle. Thats it. They dont have 101 different social/emotional issues to divide them on Election Day. The result of that is governors, on both sides of the political aisle, land their helicopters in the middle of their village to talk. Its time we came together on what is our most important issue--who is going to cease providing ANYONE with a tax-free, taxpayer subsidized lifestyle. Thats it. The ENTIRE state of NY needs to come together on this one. Whether you live in Rockland, Orange, Brooklyn, or Buffalo, this has to do with you. I promise whatever other issues you are worried about will pale in comparison to this sky rocketing cost of living.
