One thing broken about 5-fold ministry is the idea that apostles and prophets from churches are somehow over the various mountains. I thought we tried that with popes. They actually equip others. Eph 4 “Apostles and prophets will be raised up who have the wisdom, strategy and grace to mentor and disciple people who can lead corporations as CEO’s, entrepreneurs, heads of communities, states and even nations. Apostles and prophets will not just plant and build churches, but they will have the structures for managing and rebuilding ruined cities and nations. Prophets will serve in government, helping to structure the educational policy of nations, etc. The theological evolution goes something like this: 1. There is only one mountain (the church) led by apostles and prophets. 2. There are 7 mountains, but the church led by apostles and prophets is over all of them. 3. The church, apostles and prophets serves a disiple-making function to equip the saints for their role in other mountains. The celebrate and send instead of controlling and managing. The institutional church has nearly made herself irrelevant to everything thats happening in culture because of the introversion and inflated sense of self-importance. sad Good people trying to do the right thing, stuck in their religious tradition.
