One thing that I am more and more on the fence about is the idea - TopicsExpress

One thing that I am more and more on the fence about is the idea of asking people to share your platform, asking people to like your post, or whatever else. Even building a list and writing the list is a strategy that exists. I mean I have a list myself, but here is what is the most important...... If you need to put your name at the end of your quotes, if you need to trick people to get on your list, etc, you are not using your greatest potential at all. Under all of these getting and strategic marketing tricks lies your real power and its sitting there dormant. There is an oil well of amazingness that is rarely ever tapped into. You have a creativity gene that is so special and so unique. But most of us never, ever really touch it. We just try to get. Getting your friends to like or share your website, etc. is so silly. You are attempting to create hype without a foundation. When someone asks me to work with them, and the start of the conversation is how big our list is I lose interest. These people think their greatness lies in their list and ability to hook people with manipulative tactics. If your list is your god then you will do whatever you can to keep it, even if it means sacrificing your truth. If yourself is your focus, if you keep going deeper and peeling off the layers of lies and false beliefs in your head, you will discover a massive bunch of talents and soul. I used to do those things myself. I used to ask people to click like, or vote for me, or whatever else. But I have recently learned when you move from your heart you can actually accomplish more. When you undo the desire for people to resonate with you and just actually connect with yourself, you make magic. The by-product of this magic is everyone wants to work with you, or share your stuff, BECAUSE ITs ACTUALLY THAT GOOD. Michael Jackson, Gandhi, Louis CK, Marianne Williamson, Michael Bernard Beckwith Steve Jobs, etc. were not focused on how many people they could GET. They were focused on how amazing they ARE. They used their imagination to create original content that you just had to see to believe. They were focused on how deeply they could connect with their own soul. They lived on their souls edge and they werent surviving by asking everyone to like them. Stevie Wonder just fell in love with his music. He is clearly more fascinated with the music coming through over how many sales he could get, and how many people like him. I am not talking about just letting people know that you have something coming up. Advertising can be necessary so people know. I am talking about fake hype. I am talking about moving from what you can get versus what you can give. With every move, ask yourself Am I trying to get a sale, or give a gift here. Move towards the gift, everything else will follow. So instead of spending your day attempting to create fake hype that will never be sustainable, actually put your soul on the line and go deep. Experience what is actually trying to come through you. I dare you to meet your greatness by showing up and trusting. End your need to now how and show up. Be willing to do it wrong constantly and just go. You cant see the journey because you havent taken it yet. It will unfold in front of you with each step you take. When you are in your ego, you will quickly discover that the world does not revolve around you. When you are in your soul, you will learn that it does.
