One thing that I have found very disheartening and depressing is the damage that has been done and continues to be done to small towns and cities along my route by corporate operations. Beautiful buildings and spacious streets are deserted in the centers of these towns while out along the Federally mandated Interstate highways the McDonalds, Burger Kings, Waffle House and Quality Inn thrive and kill the old businesses who cannot compete with the mass buying and production.
