One thing that I havent understood about some revolutionaries (Im afraid there are more than a few) who engage in identity politics, e.g. all men are oppressors because patriarchy, is why do they so often attack and humiliate individuals so viciously who are privileged in some ways due to their identity, e.g. male privilege, white privilege, etc. when they know full well that the root cause of the problem is institutional and certainly not created by those individuals, majority of whom are working-class people, that is, the sole emancipators of the human race from capital and the state. Instead as revolutionaries we should appeal to the understanding of those individuals who are conditioned by the existing social order and explain with compassion where their display of distasteful messages of bigotry stem from and why such words are divisive and counter to their very own interest. We play right into the hands of our masters of state and capital and their methods of divide and conquer when we treat individuals as if they are the root of the problem instead of the system.
