One thing that pierced me during my Honeymoon was when we booked a boat excursion across the Caribbean Ocean, was just how turbulent, harsh and relentless the Ocean can be, as we found ourselves caught in a post Hurricane storm. Yet we were in a luxurious vessel, with mini bar, food and beds at our disposal. Oddly enough at this point my mind pondered on how terrifying this ordeal must have been for my ancestors. Who were shackled slave upon slave, to row to the beat of a drum, in fecal matter, and urine for months on end, with no motorised engine, fresh food, or rest rooms, and when expired due to exhaustion or illness were planked one on top of another as though they were plank wood. :( However this humbled me to think that these mighty courageous yet average people I share my ancestry. :)
