One time Satan tagged along other angels and appeared before God - TopicsExpress

One time Satan tagged along other angels and appeared before God to discuss one or two issues (Job 1:6). The LORD said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil. - Job 1:8. God didnt brag to Satan about Jobs material possessions or exploits. Satan probably had other issues to discuss with God other than this Job stuff. However God was bubbling with so much joy that He invited Satan to consider (give special attention, thought and look closely at) at Job the righteous. One would have thought that God would have said to Satan, have you considered my wealth son Job. His possessions also were 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 female donkeys, and very many servants; and that man was the greatest of all the men of the east. - Job 1:3. No: God spoke of the quality of Jobs heart. Whilst mankind majors on material wealth; God majors on the condition of the heart. God didnt talk of Jobs children, cattle or camels, He spoke of the righteous Job. Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come. - 1 Timothy 4:8. In a world of materialism (big brands, big house, big cars, latest gadget, fashion labels etc), the condition of ones heart has been relegated to the tail-end of the queue. What men may esteem and be highly impressed with; God takes no notice of at all. Satan doesnt have godliness, holiness or righteousness, but as far as worldly riches are concerned, Satan isnt moved an inch. Thats why God couldnt show-off to Satan using Jobs wealth; Satan is fully loaded. Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the KINGDOMS of the world and their SPLENDOUR. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” - Matthew 4:8-9. Nothing wrong with material gains, not at all; for He richly gives us all things to enjoy. - 1 Timothy 6:17. However the material things dont impress God because He is the one who gave them in the first place. Who has given to Me that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine. - Job 41:11. What then is valuable before God that He can boast about; the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. - 1 Peter 3:4. Real treasure before God is doing the word of God. God wants to boast and brag about you today. You are His treasure.
