One tiny thing I disagree with: She says Breastfeeding is a learned skill. Not just. Just like babywearing, its a combination of a learned and instinctive skill. For mum, the learning (through observation) doesnt happen in the family and community anymore. For mum and baby, interventions during labour and birth can inhibit instincts. And then theres expectations ... a lack of understanding of what is normal infant behaviour, what are normal needs (theres a blog post coming about that!) Attending a Breastfeeding Preparation Session and Breastfeeding Group are beneficial to regaining that understanding, doing some of that learning, re-connecting with your instincts, finding a supportive community.
