One way to help those affected by the WA wildfires: In response - TopicsExpress

One way to help those affected by the WA wildfires: In response to the Carlton Complex Wildfire in which 300 homes have been lost and many people left home with just the cloths on their back; Trinity Lutheran, Omak WA is partnering up with WELS Christian Aid and Relief (CA&R), Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, East Wenatchee, and other sister congregations in the Pacific North West to aid those who are in need. Thankful no WELS/ELS members have lost their homes; however, we do have neighbors and friends who have lost most everything. Currently, many people are literally camping, and they have those kinds of needs met. Yet, in a couple months, will the help be there when it is still needed? What will happen for those who didn’t have insurance or are told “insurance doesn’t cover that”? That is where you possibly can assist in the rebuilding effort. You may send a donation to Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 563, Omak, WA 98841 (memo: relief fund) and once the funds are compiled, we’ll then reach out to Christian Aid and Relief to get a match, most likely a dollar for dollar match up to 10k! No red tape, no administration fees, just Christians helping those in need. Currently we are looking to aid directly a handful of families. For example a couple have come to our attention; an uninsured couple in their 20s lost their trailer and we want to help them purchase a used one to replace it. Another man is a 90 year WWII veteran with no insurance and no home, we want to help him also with his needs. If you would like to see latest on this relief effort, more info will be posted at Omaklutherans If you have any questions, my info is also below. Deadline for submitting a donation is September 30th. Thank you and God bless. Kevin Schnake Pastor of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church (WELS) 509-826-2311 omaklutherans pastorschnake@yahoo
