One way to learn about the many world religions is to witness to them. If they are faithful to their cause, they will try to convert you and that is the reason why we need to be firmly rooted into the impeccable Word of God. As Ive said repeatedly, every Christian should take a course in “apologetics” which defined is, defending your faith (not being sorry for it). It doesnt hurt to know about a persons beliefs beforehand and a great course in apologetics should discuss other religions, cults and such. There are people who are quick to point out that Im mentally handicapped with phobias like Islamophobia, Homophobia, etc. I dont fear them any more than a doctor fears a patient riddled with cancer and life is hanging in the balance. People who dont know the Lord are already dead in their sins and trespasses and if they die physically without redemption from those sins they will spend an eternity in hell and I dont want their blood on my hands.
