One would think that after all of the negative press the IRS - TopicsExpress

One would think that after all of the negative press the IRS targeting scandal has brought the government agency that they would stop the practice, but evidently, they haven’t learned their lesson. And guess who is behind the latest targeting scandal? Lois Lerner, who should have been fired after the first scandal was made public, is behind another targeting scandal. It seems this hardened liberal is hell bent on going after groups and organizations that don’t agree with her political ideology. Lerner’s latest target is the American Legion. The American Legion was formed after World War 1 as a patriotic organization for the veterans, service members and their communities. It was charted by Congress in 1919. It didn’t take long for the American Legion to grow to over a million members and thousands of posts. As they grew in size, they also became a powerful influence in social changes and in getting benefits for veterans. Today, they boast a membership over 2.4 million in 14,000 posts worldwide. There is no secret that the Obama administration has launched a war on conservatives and patriotic Americans. The Department of Defense has issued new instructions stating that many conservative and Christian organizations are hate groups and their members are not fit for military service. So it only makes sense that Lerner would again instruct IRS personnel to target a group like the American Legion. According to a statement released by the American Legion: “The IRS now requires American Legion posts to maintain dates of service and character of service records for all members… The penalty for not having the required proof of eligibility is, apparently, $1,000 per day.” Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS) has learned about the IRS targeting of the American Legion and the unfair demands they have placed upon them. Moran commented saying: “On the heels of Americans’ anger over revelations that the IRS intentionally targeted certain groups, it has been brought to my attention that the IRS is now turning their sights toward our nation’s veterans. The IRS seems to be auditing veteran service organizations by requiring private member military service forms.” “If a post is unable or not willing to turn over this personal information, it’s possible they could face a fine of $1,000 per day.” “I am deeply concerned about this revelation and will insist on answers. This policy seems to be crafted with the oversight of Lois Lerner and deserves, at a minimum, a thorough look to make certain the IRS is not overstepping bounds of privacy and respect for our nation’s heroes.” Philip Onderdonk, legal counsel for the American Legion told The Daily Caller: "The American Legion has recently learned of the so-called IRS ‘audit manual’ and is concerned that portions of it attempt to amend statutes passed by Congress and approved by the president.” “Resolutions recommending action by the Legion’s legislative division on two of the most egregious sections of the IRS document are being presented for a vote by members at The American Legion’s annual national convention in Houston [this] week. If the resolutions are adopted, the Legion will be empowered as a body to urge correction of the veteran’s service organization-related portion(s) of the IRS manual and suggest congressional review of the entire 38 section IRS document.” This can only be viewed as another of many attacks on America’s patriots, conservatives and military. The Obama administration wants nothing more than to destroy patriotic organizations like the American Legion and will use whatever means he has to accomplish his goal. The only hope for America is to remove Obama from office as soon as possible along with the rest of his traitorous band. They need to be corralled and locked up and the key to their prison doors destroyed so they can never again see the light of day and carry out their treasonous schemes against the American people.
