One year ago I made myself a promise to be as healthy as I can be. In light of our nations struggle with obesity, addiction and self-destruction that I would prove to myself that I can proactively fight disease and statistics that make me reliant on our complex and unraveling healthcare system. That means as of June 1st, one year smoke free. Eating all organic non-genetically modified foods and plants. Removal of all processed foods, foods with additives, gluten and soy, artificial flavors, and preservatives from my diet entirely only to be replaced by whole, natural foods that maintain healthy levels of all trace minerals, vitamins and amino acids. Regular exercise including cardio no less than 4 times a week. Enough water on a daily basis to keep a camel alive for a year. Removal of any compounds that your body does not produce naturally, like use of all natural fluoride-free toothpaste and mouthwashes. Along with aluminum-free all natural deodorants, removal of petroleum-based body lotions and products, acid-based shampoos and washes that have been replaced with all natural plant based ingredients. Antibiotics and other medicines have all been replaced by... well... nothing as I no longer get sick, have headaches, stomach upsets, breakouts, or fatigue. My skin, mind, energy, and body all feel it. With new years resolutions fleeting, diet fads failing, and temptation everywhere, I encourage everyone to dedicate whatever it takes to get yourself to MAINTAIN your health! My latest obsession continuing to fuel this promise? The Detox Miracle Sourcebook by Robert Morse!
