One year ago at this exact time, the worst time in my life took place. But, instead of reliving terrible memories and the possibilities of the what ifs ....I am choosing to celebrate. Celebrate the fact that one year ago today I did NOT lose my precious boy to a terrible tragedy, that he survived it. Celebrate that I have an amazing daughter (Kayla Smeltzer) who became the Mom while I was gone and under that unbelievable stress still managed to graduate 6 months early. Celebrate that God blessed me with the most wonderful husband in the world (Paul Rawlins) who not only took care of everything....worked incredibly hard, took care of our kids, paid the bills, cooked and cleaned....but also held me together when I felt like giving up or falling apart. Celebrate the amazing team of doctors, nurses, specialists and support staff that kept my boy alive and took such great care of him. Celebrate Red Deer Overdoor and Wal Mart for being such supportive employers to Paul and I. Celebrate our wonderful family and awesome friends for their love, support, and encouragement. And last, but not least....celebrate that down the hall from me right now, sleeping peacefully and no longer in pain is my happy, healthy, sweet, adorable 14 year old angel Colton. I feel truly blessed! Xo
