One year ago at this time we were standing outside of the death house in Huntsville waiting for Texas to murder Bobby Garza at 6 pm. We met Sylvia and her family in 2007 at the 8th Annual March to Abolish the Death Penalty when they drove to Houston from the Valley. For the next 7 years Sylvia worked so hard to save her son. She fought the Law of Parties and educated everyone, from activists to legislators, about how unjust is is. She and her husband and their two kids visited Bobby regularly. They marched and protested and lobbied and set up lit tables and did media interviews. It would end the death peanlty in a heart beat if EVERY family worked this hard! Today I remember Bobby and remember with disgust the racist state of texas and its assembly line of death.
