One year ago this week I released my debut EP for My Favorite Robot Records which surprisingly went on to be quite successful. Its fascinating how a track can really resonate with people and end up becoming larger then originally intended. I was in an amazing head space while I was creating this EP. Working on music full time (8-12hrs a day, 5-6 days a week) really enabled me to immerse myself mentally in the music and make the best decisions possible when it came to the building blocks of the tracks. Now one year later I am a full time producer/dj and realize that it all came down to dedicating enough time to allow myself to grow as an artist. It started with looking at how all of my hours were spent during a typical week day and writing them down. The piece of paper told me that I was spending the least amount of time on the thing I wanted the most. I made the necessary adjustments and put myself in a position to at least give myself a chance at success in the career of my choice.
