One year ago today, my life was flipped upside down. I was on top of the world, and had my professional life planned out through retirement. But apparently, God wanted me to go in another direction and I wasnt listening, so I got the biggest slap in the face and that finally got my attention. This year has been filled with ups and downs and more trials, changes, and lessons than I hope I ever have to deal with again. I have had many tests during my life, yet somehow I always come out ok. One year later, I am still healing emotionally. I take it day by day, but I am accepting this new life and starting to like the new direction that it is headed. I was kicked down but stood back up immediately and kept moving forward. I have learned what friendship is, what family is, who those people are, and that they are the most important thing in life. I will never take those for granted again. This song has popped up in my life since I came out at 22 and continues to pop up when I need to hear it the most. Thank you to all of my friends and family who were there for me then, and continue to be here for me now. I love you all.
