Only 2 Sleeps until we leave Longreach!! Well the pace is quickening here at HQ Longreach with many last minute preparations underway. Weve now had a good opportunity to trial-run our camp, although still with mains electricity. The horses are really being transformed from bush horses to town horses. Theyve done a great job being exposed to traffic, sudden noises, and strange sights, especially the young ones. They arent quite up to Lachie Cossers Outback Show performance horses where one of his horses lays on its back, but they will perform as we expect...fingers crossed. Today the Longreach Regional Council Mayor, Joe Owens visited our camp to wish us well for our street parade leaving from Galah St at 1.00pm tomorrow (Tuesday) with Lachie Crosser accompanying us riding his bullock...I kid you not!! Anna was asked by a small boy are you the people who are riding all the way to Tasmania? The word is spreading. Its also exciting to hear from the media who are writing articles and also requesting interviews. Well try to keep you posted about when and where to listen, but if you miss them you can tune into our podcasted interviews. The Mayor will also join us for our Longreach community fundraiser sausage sizzle at the Stockmans Hall of Fame at 6.30pm Tuesday evening on the lawn near the Cattlemans Bar & Grill. We look forward to meeting plenty of the locals there. So LR4L is having a very social time, as shown in the photo with Mayor Joe and the LR4L Team.
