Only 9 months into the year and Ill have re-qualified for Virgin Atlantics Gold Membership tier :S It might not be as use this year for a number of reasons; - Theyve stopped flying the London-Sydney route, and Ill probably be going back to Australia for a bit in 2015. - Their on-site booking system seems intent on pushing me to a Delta flight with a stop-over rather than offering me the direct Virgin flight as the default which makes booking a bit more cumbersome. - On a few occasions Ive seen BA flights which mix Business one way and First the other for around the same cost (to within £50) and, from what Im told, they have a nicer in-flight seat/bed and a terminal-side services (except for the Heathrow lounge facilities, but Ive had my share of spa treatments :) ). - The new first class suites on an A330 to Washington they seemed significantly smaller than the old suites I used to get on the 747s to San Francisco, and the 747s are, I believe, due for an upgrade :(. So itll be interesting to see if I end up making the points needed next year, or whether I get lured away to another airline.
