Only God Forgives ~ If you’re looking for a movie which is not a re-make, is not a sequel and is not a cookie cutter script with a hold your hand conclusion, then this is the movie for you. With the lighting done by the guy who worked with Kubrick for a couple of decades (amazing in this movie as well), Ryan Gosling working on material Cruise and Cage should but wouldn’t for fear of leaving their fan base behind and having to actually service a script wherever it might lead, this movie takes no prisoners and asks more from it’s audience than most movies ever do. Beware, this movie has no moral center, it’s very dark and very, very violent; with man on man and man on woman violence that’s seldom seen at the movies since the ‘70’s. You looking to be pushed and punched in the face… here’s the movie for you.
