Only day 2 of the water battle our three Councillors Millisa Jim and Myself still standing by our election promise to fight the introduction of the water meters. Yesterday and today the residents have being standing up for themselves. Their demands are fair they want to see the safety statement for the job and the safe passes for the workers. They dont want cars and vans with no tax or nct or insurance documents on the estate. No trailers without lights and they want to protest against treble taxation. I asked the Garda Sergeant to meet with our Councillors and the residents and the contractors to discuss the problems and I was told we represent nobody. While the Garda are completely ignoring the laws being broken by the builders on the instruction of the builders boss he gave out a ticket to a taxi driver who had 2 wheels on the path while passing his own garda car on the path. Tomorrows day 3 they all still need to meet and talk if the sergeants believes as he said he needs more guards to drive this true and take the residents to court hes the wrong man in the wrong place. People need to stand up and support the residents dont wait till it comes to your estate and join the fight for justice for the ordinary man. Im very proud in the leadership roles Millisa and Jim are taking we know the establishment partys cant stand up on this issue it affect their chances of a pocket filler on some board or quango in the future.
