Only five days till I go back to South Bend, Indiana, to visit me - TopicsExpress

Only five days till I go back to South Bend, Indiana, to visit me mother who I havent seen nor hugged in over three years! Its going to be a scary, exhilarating, anxiety-making, bittersweet journey that I will make sure and take a lot of photos--of not video footage--of. One of the things I will be doing there, is going through my gigantic storage unit which I have been using to store every piece of property belonging to my name since going to Peru, back in December of 1996. I havent seen most of the stuff in that unit--which is huuuuuge, probably 20X30, bigger than some NYC studio apartments--in close to twenty years, there will be things Ill stumble across that I wont even remember, I am sure. Stickers, club kid trading cards, club posters and invitations, footage of club kids on every talk show. Most of my old club kid clothes and the better photographs were skimmed already....by James and Keoki...but that was to be expected. If only they would not have lost everything! The one things thats going to be difficult for me, is I may have to sell the one thing sort of frivolous thing that means the most in the world to me....thats right, Im talking about my Lego....the collection I have amassed all my life and played with practically every day as a child. For one thing, I dont have the space to store it any longer...and for another, in order to bring it back with me to NYC Id need an entire room in an apartment sort of dedicated to it...which I could afford to do back in the 90s when I was the rich (if spoiled, and bratty) director of four of the largest nightclubs in the world....and when NYC real estate was merely ridiculously overpriced, rather than ridiculously ridiculously overpriced, the way it is today. Unless I am able to make a fortune selling my artwork, or a screenplay idea, or some toher business of mine takes off, I will never be able to afford such luxury again......Yet another thing I would never take for granted, if I were to ne granted it again in this lifetime! So, well see....how much stuff I have, whether or not I can downsize the space of my storage unit, etc. My friend Jana, who my older brother went to high school with, says she has a climate-controlled basement where she says I can store everything indefinitely....so I really have no excuse for having to sell the entire collection...other than raising money, of course! Theres always that... cant live in this reasonably-priced room at Ernies forever, you know...More on this as it comes in!
