Only five more days left til we get to go home, and Danielle continues to make good gains every day. On Wednesday morning she was able to lift her right foot off the floor about 3 inches, and Dr Tracy, her rehab physician, was yelling Go! Go! Go! so loudly he frightened the staff down the hall. Wish you could have seen the giant grin on Danielles face. Shes got the first traces of feeling in her fingers and toes now, so things are moving at a glacial pace but moving in the right direction. Her speech therapy is leaps and bounds from just last week; shes rattling off items and her voice today is the strongest its been. She is now able to sit up and hoist her feet onto the floor from a lying position unassisted, using her good leg to lift the slack one. Still no action on the right arm as of yet...but stand by! Danielles mom has returned to her home in The Villages, and I will be away most of the day tomorrow (Sat). I hate to think of Danielle sitting in her room all alone like Grandma at the old folks home, so if anyone wanted to come hang out with her in the morning, that would be great. Our friend Lynette is there at 1:30, but she might like to go home after a couple of hours, too (Ill be away until about 5:30pm). I will order lunch for Danielle ahead of time, and we are very near the cafeteria if you wanted a snack. Call or text me if youre willing, and we greatly appreciate it!
