Only one between you and God: Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. (Note from me: notices to hold fast to our profession; it means that there is only one priest from this point on) 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need Hebrews 5: 5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.(Note: Jesus was certified by God) 6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. 7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; {in that...: or, for his piety} 8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; 10 ¶ Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. A priest is who stand between you and God; being that men are sinful no one could perfectly fit that roll but Christ. He is both, the sacrifice for your sin and the presenter of such sacrifice directly to God. Romans 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. (Note from me; the problem is that no one can do the law because is perfect; so you would have to be perfect throughout your life to be save by the law)6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. You do not have to depend on anyone but Christ. There is no high priest higher than Christ and you are free to come to him with your issues. You see people out there giving them self titles to appear like they are between you and God; that is heresy. There are no longer Apostle or supper human saints that you have to come to first for repentance and advocacy. Only Christ died and was resurrected and sits on the right hand of God as an eternal reminder of the price paid for your soul. Pastors, Counselors and Sheppard have their duties listed in the Bible, but they are not priest and no longer there is a need for a priest.
