Only one freezing rain warning in effect early Saturday evening in the areas of Swan Hills, Fox Creek, Woodlands County, Whitecourt, Edson and Yellowhead County: M.D. of Big Lakes near Swan Hills. Environment Canada says Freezing rain is expected or occurring. An area of freezing rain is moving east across parts of central Alberta this afternoon. The freezing rain will likely persist for a few more hours before it changes to snow or becomes patchy. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
