Only one little green turtle was found this morning during FLCCs - TopicsExpress

Only one little green turtle was found this morning during FLCCs search and rescue efforts to find cold-stunned sea turtles in St. Joseph bay, FL. This little cutie was literally very LITTLE (see photos below)! It is probably the smallest sea turtle we have seen during a cold-stun event. He was aptly named Tiny Tim and some of our wonderful volunteers transported him to Gulf World Marine Institute today for rehabilitation where he will stay nice and warm! The weather is warming up which is great news for our turtle friends in the bay and concludes this cold-stun event! During the past two days, a total of 4 cold-stun sea turtles were found and taken to rehabilitation, all alive! A BIG thanks to FLCC volunteers for all their hard work! This event was managed by FLCC in conjunction with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). **side note: the little reddish brown swabs on the turtles carapace or shell are iodine swabs used for disinfecting a cut that the turtle had when picked up.
