Only one of the 125 applications for new colleges sent by public universities across the state has received government nod till now,While some forms were incomplete, others did not comply with norms on land, formation of societies, etc, whereas some proposals were not endorsed by local authorities, every college had at least four to five deficiencies. The universities got the applications in October and they submitted it to the government on May 1. They had over six months to scrutinize each and every application, but they have blindly recommended the applications to us,The applications were scrutinized by a committee headed by the chief minister, Some applications with minor deficiencies will be given time till July 15 and then we may give them permissions. But these colleges will receive affiliation only from 2015-16 academic session,
