Only six traffic signals pending under HTRIMS Only six of the 221 traffic signals proposed as part of the Hyderabad Traffic Integrated Management Systems (HTRIMS) project were pending and synchronisation of installed signals has to be taken up now, said the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner, Somesh Kumar here on Wednesday. After a review of the project, taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 63.61 crore and being executed by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), he said 151 of the 157 traffic signals in Hyderabad were already installed while all the proposed 64 were in place in Cyberabad area. The project progress includes installation of 17 variable message signages and 215 cameras and fixing of timers at 17 junctions, Mr. Somesh Kumar said. ‘Dismantle old signal posts’ The officials were instructed to dismantle old traffic signal posts and the BEL and ASCI were asked to closely monitor the project and complete it by month-end.
