Onwuasoanya Fcc Jones WHY I LEFT ROCHE GROUP- CIVIL ENGINEER Earlier today, I had a chanced encounter with a young civil engineer from one of the beautiful villages in Ikeduru LGA of our dear State. From some specific business discussions, I asked him what he thinks about the unending roundabout projects that our Governor does in most parts of the State, and these roads that never get completed. He told me he doesnt want to talk about it, for it pains him whenever he has to think about the destruction and wastes going on across the State. He expressed his disappointment that there are still some Imolites who still support this government of deceit. To him, the government has committed so much atrocities that considering the level of enlightenment claimed by a greater number of Imolites, there should have been an Arab Spring in Imo State, whereby Imolites will flow out to the streets, erect camps and refuse to disperse till this government is sacked. He told me that he was one of the pioneer engineers that were employed by the Roche Group when they first came into the State. However, he voluntarily resigned his appointment with them, when he found out that the company was only interested in putting up fake projects with very short lifespans. Matters got to a head between him and the management of this acclaimed Irish consortium, when he took the management of the company up on why they should be constructing their bridges and other State projects outside the specifications he recommended for them in his design, and the management would tell him, how they are in the country for business and not charitable concerns. My new friend informed me that bridges are supposed to have a guarantee of not less than eighty years, while roads are supposed to have a guarantee of thirty to forty years, but that the bridges constructed by Roche may not last up to twenty years, while the roads wont last up to two years. I informed him that the bridges in Imo State that were constructed by this government is not in use, because the people are afraid of climbing on them, while some of the roads do not last up to one week. He agreed with me, but begged that we end the discussion, there. He does not just want anything that will spoil his mood. ******************************************************************* IMO GA ADI MMA OZO!
