Oo that comment I just made was so good I have to re-post as my status. All this graduation stuff has me kind of upset. We over celebrate basic expctations and over reward mediocre performance. Ive been a sales manager for almost 20 years and I have definitely seen the result in todays workforce. The most specific example I can give is interviews. MOST (not all) of the younger generation is more concerned with what we can offer them before they even think about selling me on what they can offer the company. Its very pitiful..and very sad. Parents beware and be conscious. Positive reinforcement is great but if youre not careful it can cannibalize gratitude and intrinsic motivators.
