Ooookay, so heres a thing... There are so many petitions going around right now, and often they are for such great causes. From time to time I feel deeply called to sign some of them, so they are aiming towards a better future... And heres the but. BUT, the companies who run these petition websites spam the shit out of me from the time I submit a signature, until I unsubscribe from their sites. To me, this is a very sad thing. The world of marketing often takes precedence over human values, ironically even from websites that say they are for-runners for human values. It makes me wonder if they care about the issues first, or attendance/their business first. Recently the Liberal party has started using online petitions in order to change laws. In my opinion that route is genius, as the chance for the average person to support these things is increased. However, are you sure youre not going to try and peg me as a liberal? Are you are sure you arent trying to get me on your team, rather than, for the cause? I am not interested in most political or social teams, at least exclusively, because that is how power is taken away from the individual and shifted into group think models. Until these websites and movements have a respect for personal integrity, I am not interested. Please use my information with care and respect, if you wish for my participation.
