Oops - I forgot Sandy! And she will be arriving with us at the end of the week.... Sandy was surrendered to DAWG in Cork by her family a few weeks ago - after having been a loyal family pet for 6 years. DAWG says she sat on the childs lap when they dropped her off and she was totally and utterly heartbroken. Heres what Vicky, one of DAWGs volunteers, wrote about her at the time. “Sandy today was not as nervous as i believe she was previous days - she was very good in fact.....but I spent the day crying over her and I’m still crying. She was looking around in the field , and I said Come here Sandy ...do you want a back scratch? I knelt down and she was loving it and then she suddenly let out a very loud sigh and starting wimpering into my lap , then started crying....it wasn’t pain or anything she was just so, so, so sad. I’ve never had this before – I’m not humanizing what she did - she really did have a bawling session. The great news is that in the past few weeks, Sandy has really come on well. Although very panicky about being left to begin with, she is now much more settled. Shes a good, steady and undemanding girl - lovely with people and other dogs. She will make an exceptionally loyal companion - and although these pix arent great, she is very pretty. Sandy will need a little time to adjust to a new home and will need to time to gain confidence. However once Sandy trusts you, you will have a friend for life. Not sure what Sandy is... a bit of collie, a bit of setter perhaps? She is six years old, spayed, fully-vaxd, wormed, chipped, frontlined etc. Interested? Please email [email protected] with Sandy in the subject line.
