Opal Kittrell Miller, 90 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at her daughter’s residence in Charlestown. Opal was born March 9, 1924 in Carthage, TN the daughter of George F. and Mayrene Bennett Sampson. She was a homemaker and also worked at the old I.C.I. Americas Plant in Charlestown. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Charlestown, a volunteer at St. Catherine Hospital and enjoyed cooking. Survivors include her daughters, Claudine Jones(Jim) of New Alban Kathy Reed(David) of Charlestown, Debora Davis of Charlestown; sister, Valeda Kittrell of Mt. Juliet, TN; brothers, Phocian Sampson of Nashville, TN and Bobbie Sampson of Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren, Lennette, Tom, Joel, Mark, Sean, Scott, Ashley, Kami, Abbey, Molli; 10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law MiCha Kittrell Crawford; several nieces and nephews; Caregiver Shannon. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Cloyd Kittrell and second husband, William Robert Miller, sons, Harold Dean and James Larry Kittrell, sisters, Virginia Gibbs, Flora Sanders and Bessie Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 11:00 A.M. on Thursday until time of service
