Opal Series 2014 - Round 1 Standings It was a great opening tournament to the 2014 Opal Series on Saturday. Many thanks to everyone who helped to organise this. The number of teams and quality of play continues to rise and we are now set for an exciting series heading towards the finals day on December 6th. With twelve teams in attendance, the event was split in to two tournaments of six teams, the Opal Crown Tournament and the Opal Sceptre Tournament, with equal points awarded for placing in both. The standings after Round 1 are as follows: = 1st Coventry Cougars - 12pts = 1st Northampton Titans - 12pts = 2nd Manchester Titans - 10pts = 2nd Warwick Wolverines - 10pts = 3rd London Warriors - 9pts = 3rd Teesside Steelers - 9pts = 4th Gloucester Centurions - 8pts = 4th Nottingham Outlaws - 8pts = 5th Royal Holloway Bears - 7pts = 5th Derby Braves - 7 pts = 6th Portsmouth Destroyers - 6pts = 6th Solent Thrashers - 6pts Round 2, to be played on Saturday 8th November, will see the teams divided across two tournament venues in Manchester and Hertfordshire. It should also see the inclusion of several new teams as we welcome more members to our growing Womens Football Nation!
