Open Day For Youth Development Centre ATt Grantham Town Football Club Grantham Town FC will be holding an Open Day on Saturday 15th June for prospective players for its new youth set up. The Club will be opening its doors and highlighting its plans for its future growth and showing players and parents what the Club has to offer. It will be an opportunity to meet the coaching staff and ask questions. The day will commence with a presentation given by Eddie Humphreys, Head of Youth Development at the club and U18s manager, and this will be followed by a tour of the stadium and facilities. After that, potential players and parents will be invited to meet the coaches for the different age groups for an informal discussion. Current youth team players will also be in attendance and you will be able to speak to them about their experiences. Light refreshments will be provided and the presentation will commence at 11:00 in the newly refurbished MCS Centre at the club. Eddie Humphreys said “The infrastructure is now in place to move the Youth Development of the club forward and build on the success that the current U12s, U16s and U18s have had. We have highly qualified and enthusiastic coaches, some from professional academies and qualified to UEFA levels, now we need the players! We are looking for players with potential to progress, who are willing to listen, learn and who are committed. The emphasis will be more on development than results and we need people to buy into that. Our aim is to produce more local talent for the first team and beyond and provide a clear pathway of progression for the players. Grantham Town FC has a long and proud history and is highly regarded as a club in nonleague circles, so, if you think you fit the bill to represent the club then come and attend the Open Day”. For the 2013/14 season the Club are looking to recruit players for the existing U18s, new U16s and a combined new U15/U14 Development Squad. Players are also being sought for next years U13s. Attendance at the event is by pre registration and you can do so via the Youth Secretary, Jackie Humphreys: email [email protected] or call on 07912 384178.
