Open Form - notations on beauty and form The exhibition is based on the idea of space/the site as art form – thoughts present in art history from El Lizzitsky´s The Proun Room, Open form with the architect/artist Oskar Hansen in Warsaw in the 1960-ies to Beuys, Kiefer, Mona Hatoum. We have been working with these thoughts, artistically and in dialogue, and also been using them in teaching and other discussions about giving form in public space. “Building bricks” in the exhibition are a number of powerful visual elements with focus on the sensuous effect of colour. They are in dialogue through placing, contrast, rhythm, size, intensity, complementarity, etc. other objects in the room – islands – where material, number, cohesiveness, whiteness, evanescence, etc., together become carriers of meaning, create new leads. It has been our main idea that the exhibition should be able to give an experience of beauty and meaning – and be a starting point for a dialogue on value and content. A dialogue where sensuousness and beauty are being given place in an intellectual, creative, context, also on and in public space. Dialogue creates precision. Dialogue is also artistic investigative work. We see this work as a start of a more extended process, in which there are many interesting tracks and side tracks! Artistic work has an unused potential as dialogue form. Asbjörn Andresen Lisa Sigfridsson
