Open Letter from Dennis Michael Lynch OPEN LETTER TO CONGRESSMAN STEVE KING Congressman Steve King (IA) 2210 Rayburn Office Building Washington, DC 20515 Phone: 202.225.4426 Fax: 202.225.3193 Dec, 9, 2014 Dear Congressman King: A few weeks ago, I was contacted by one of my DML2016 Volunteers who lives in Iowa. She informed me of your IOWA FREEDOM SUMMIT this coming January. It is being slated in the press as the first multi-candidate forum for 2016 presidential hopefuls. You told The Des Moines Register, Itll be an event that all the nation stops and looks at. What gets said and done, some of those things will be driving the conversation in the country. You went on to say you invited everyone who has expressed interest in running in 2016. Having read that statement knowing I did not receive an invite, I immediately contacted your office with hopes of being offered an invitation to speak. Although you and your staff members are more than familiar with me, I considered the possibility that you did not hear of my 2016 announcement. Thus, I emailed you links to two videos. The first one highlighted a recent appearance on The Kelly File in which I announced my intentions for 2016, and the other was a speech I gave at an event held in my honor in the great state of Arizona. Three times during the speech I announced intentions to explore options for running in 2016. I was later told by your staff that a decision would be made within a few days as to whether I would be invited to speak. Honestly, I was troubled by this comment considering I had announced my hopes and plans for 2016 several times on national TV. Is it not enough that Megyn Kelly (FOX), Shannon Bream (FOX), Steve Malzberg (Newsmax) and Ed Berliner (Newsmax) treated my 2016 announcement as newsworthy? Ill have you know the American people are interested in my potential candidacy. For example, last week people traveled to DC from California, Texas and Michigan solely to hear me speak for 5 minutes at your rally. Another example would be the recent poll posted on The Kelly File Facebook page. Megyn asked, Would you vote for Dennis Michael Lynch for President of the United States? Approximately 4,000 people responded with 85% of them voting YES. Earlier this year I conducted an interview with you for my film WE RIDE TO DC. You said the following: We need the kind of leader that will bring us together morally, that will advocate for strong families, marriage, pro-life, Constitutional law, the rule of law and the refurbishing of the pillars of American exceptionalism. When a leader like that begins to emerge, the mainstream media attacks them and tries to discredit them. I dont know if anyone can survive that or not but weve got to try -- its the most important thing for the future of our country. More poetic statements came from your lips last week on December 3rd when you introduced me at your anti-amnesty rally. You said, He has been a leader in this immigration tropic and he has earned the stature of talking about America, Americanism, the rule of law and securing the border. Ironically, moments before the introduction I asked if you planned to invite me to the Iowa Freedom Summit. I was taken back when you said, I havent had the chance to think about it. When I finished my speech, your staff member talked to me about Iowa. She said the lineup of speakers had not yet been confirmed and it would take another two weeks before the lineup was set. Sadly, it took less than a week for me to receive a letter from the cosponsor of the Iowa Freedom Summit. It read, We received word that you are interested in speaking at the Iowa Summit in January. Unfortunately, the speaking schedule for this event is entirely booked. It was signed by, Citizens United Staff. I then visited their website and saw the notice stating more speakers were being added over the next two weeks. How disrespectful! Basically, when I read between the lines the letter states, Congressman King asked us to send an email stating everyone but you, Mr. Lynch, has been invited to speak in Iowa. The Des Moines Register wrote: King said the best presidential candidate, in his opinion, would be a full-spectrum Constitutional conservative who is committed to balancing the federal budget, doing a transformative tax overhaul and securing the nations borders. Sounds like a guy you and I both know. Sounds like a guy who used his media contacts to help fill your rallies with people from all across America. Sounds like a guy who spends his own money, takes time away from his family and travels 8 hours by car to attend your events without ever asking for a single thing in return. Reminds me of a guy that once stood in front of you to shield off angry protestors who tried to get in your face to scream words like racist and bigot. In WE RIDE TO DC you warn of the mainstream media trying to discredit a leader like myself. Well, truth is youre doing a better job than MSNBC. At least they granted me an interview. By eliminating me from the Iowa lineup; by ignoring my supporters; by pretending room on the Iowa stage is unavailable, it is you Mr. Congressman who is trying to discredit me. It is you, Steve King, who is acting like the judge and jury on who the people get to see and hear. With all due respect, when did you become the guy to decide the lineup of potential candidates? Steve, do you not recall our phone conversation last year? We sat on the phone for an hour discussing the idea of me entering politics. I recall asking you, Whats harder... starting a business or running for office? You replied, Starting a business. I laughed and told you I had started three successful businesses in my day. And now here we are -- you want to shield my expertise and experience from the American people? I find it ironic that as I write this letter to you an email hit my inbox. It includes a link to a new TV ad put out by Sen. Ted Cruz in which he highlights me on FOX explaining how my days in business allow me to forecast the biggest nightmare facing American workers (amnesty colliding with Obamacare). Everyone makes mistakes. Therefore, I am leaving open the opportunity for you to respond to this letter. I invite you to change your mind and show me the respect Ive shown you. Show the American people you will do the right thing. Stand behind the eloquent messages youve sold at the rallies and films in which weve both appeared. Reach your hand out to me and I will take it with no hard feelings. I will publicly commend you for making good. To the contrary, if things remain as they are now, please know I will be at your event at some capacity. Please know I am the sort of leader who never falls no matter how hard he is hit. Perhaps its that American exceptionalism that wont allow me to fade away? Regardless, you can finish this letter by curbing your concerns. I will survive the attacks and attempts to discredit me. How can I not? A congressman from Iowa once told me its the most important thing for the future of our country. I guess you can say I drank the Kool-Aid. Fighting for America, Dennis Michael Lynch DML PS: A link to a video reminding you of your own words. https://youtube/watch?v=hos2wVV1BNs&feature=youtu.beael Lynch:
