Open Letter to the the Governor. To The Honorable Governor Jerry Brown c/o State Capitol, Suite 1173 Sacramento, CA 95814 Dear Governor Brown, I write today to lend my voice to the many others in Riverside County who find ourselves waiting in great anticipation for you to appoint on our behalf our 3rd District Supervisor. I am a 4th generation resident of Hemet CA, I have had the joy and distress of seeing my community brave decades of change. But none were more dramatic than the catastrophic changes that resulted from the recent great recession. Hemet in particular was ground zero above all other communities in Riverside County. Now more than at any time in my communities long history do we require a 3rd District Supervisor who will place our interest at the top of their agenda. Governor, For the past few decades we have seen amazing results brought to the Cities of Temecula, Corona, Menifee and others through the efforts of County Supervisors intimately familiar with their needs, while our once quiet Senior community was virtually forgotten. Once ranked as one of the top ten best places to retire in the United States, Hemet is now a haven for crime, prostitution and gang activity. Please sir I ask with genuine urgency that you consider the Hemet communities choice to represent us in the 3rd District. Rose Salgado has spent a lifetime in service to our community. Highly honored by her community she was voted Woman of the year by the Hemet San Jacinto Chambers of Commerce in 2008. Given the Distinguished Woman Award by Inland Empire Magazine in 2009, Outstanding Member of the Year by the Mt San Jacinto College Foundation 2012 and was honored by State Senator Morrell of the 23rd District in 2014 as a Woman of Distinction. Rose Salgado has demonstrated her willingness to work hard for us at every opportunity and earned the trust of voters time and time again. Rose was elected to the San Jacinto Unified School District board of Trustees 1990 to 1994 and Re-elected 2010-2016. She served as officers on Executive committees for the San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce1994-1995, Executive committee 2002-2010, Ramona Bowl Amphitheatre Board of Directors, home to California’s Official outdoor play 1998-2008, Soboba Tribal Council 1999 to present, Soboba Foundation 2011 to present, Western Science Center Board of Directors 2010 to present. She was elected to The Valley Wide Recreation and Park District Board of Directors for 2012-2016. Serves on The Community Foundation serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties since 2012, and currently serves on the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce executive Board since 2013. Rose Salgado would bring inexhaustive energy to the remaining 2 years of the term vacated by Supervisor Jeff Stone. She would bring valuable experience, and a full array of qualifications, but most importantly she would bring with her our faith our trust and our vested hope. For the first time in many years we would have a Supervisor who represented US. Thank you, sir, for your sincere consideration. My very best wishes! Sincerely, Tami Wilhelm Resident 3rd District Hemet California Vice President, Ramona Bowl Amphitheatre
