Job title: Project Coordinator (PC) Location: 4 days a week based in Amman Jordan July 2014 until 15th October 2014 with possibility of extension Purpose: To assist four to six Trainers, manage information/ reporting/budget management and creating awareness for marketing purposes Reporting to: Programme Director, Partner Organisation Salary: Consultancy, Your salary shall be $24,000 pro rata 4 days a week $1600 month Starting date: ASAP OVERVIEW OF BIDNA CAPOEIRA’S PROGRAMME Bidna Capoeira works with refugee communities and particularly traumatised children and youth using the Brazilian art/sport of capoeira to bring psychosocial benefits such as increased self-respect and reduced levels of violence. Bidna Capoeira was founded in 2007 working with street children in Syria and is running now programmes in Palestine and in Jordan. For further information please see bidnacapoeira.org ROLE OVERVIEW Bidna Capoeira’s programmes aims to provide psychosocial support through social capoeira programmes (consisting of music, sport, play) to youth and children living in conflict zones. This role will be initially for there and a half months with the possibility of extension. The role of the PC will monitor evaluate the programme in a culturally complex conflict environment. You will also managing project budget, contribute to the strategic development and report to Bidna Capoeira (BC) and to one partner organisation on progress and programme goals. You will have responsibility for raising awareness, create innovative and compelling content as part of Bidna Capoeira’s online fundraising for marketing purposes including, social media, creating blogs and photographic material of interviews with trainers children, teachers, parents and other stakeholders throughout the programmes. Your Team will initially include four to six (part time) capoeira trainers; you will also ideally recruit and manage a psychosocial councillor at a later stage to support the work. You must have excellent project coordination and leadership skills, a track record of delivering programme goals and be comfortable working in high stress environments, and always ready to calmly manage a crisis. RESPONSIBILITIES Administration, financial management and Programme implementation You will support in managing the day-to-day implementation of the project and will have responsibility for monitoring and managing the budget. You will ensure that the BC Project Plan is followed, as directed. Keep an excellent relationship with staff and partners and you will raise any potential areas of concern in good time with the Programme Director. You may be also required to assist in developing other programmes. Monitoring and evaluation Good monitoring and evaluation of programmes is fundamental to BC’s work and the PC role is crucial to this. You will be responsible for supporting the programme team carry out all the necessary data collection, ensuring it is of good quality and helping to produce the relevant programme reports. All reporting must meet deadlines as per BC’s Project Plan. Line management You will manage a team of initial six to ten local people. You will be responsible for coordinating with staff, community leaders and local community based organisations, evaluating performances, ensuring safe conduct and highlighting any potential issues to the Programme Director in good time. Communications Manage and create content for BC’s online presence including on Website, Facebook, Twitter, and through blogs. Posts on relevant blogs create content as needed and engage/advocate in international media.
