Open air gig at the foot of the Tomor mountains, Berat, Albania. I managed to say hello and thank you on stage in Albanian, a fair few syllables, in fact, Hello Berat. Got interviewed for Albanian TV and when they asked how I would describe my music, for some reason I stumbled, Um.. traditional. Then, when the translator confidently said, Traditionale, I worriedly added, Traditional.. um.. rocknroll. (Though my manager says no one has called it that for 20 years, Im sure my ex-boyfriend in Camden did.) There was a little girl dancing around in the lights for the whole gig, just like I used to do for hours and hours and hours. She made my eyes water while I was singing, of course, it was moving. Some of the band got very very very drunk on fire water and I watched silver dawn on the river from my balcony before crashing in the bus back to Mother Theresa airport.
