Service dates: 01 02 2014 – 01 02 2015 Application deadline: 20 09 2013 - motivational letters and cv‘s have to be send to the email: evssaltes.egle@gmail Short description about HO: SOS Children Villages Lithuania Family strengthening programme aims – to provide social support for disadvantaged families in the local community through the number of social and psychological services. Family strengthening programme organizes and provides individual and group activities for both parents and children in order to develop and strengthen social, parental skills, adequate knowledge about children development, their needs and the ways to meet their needs according to the age group they belong to. We also provide charity (foodstuff, clothing, home ware, etc), mediation, informing and case management services. Volunteers activties: • Communication with community/ society: Volunteer will write articles, newsletters about what is happening in a Family strengthening programme, will publish it in organization and partners’ website, send news to the partners and sponsors. Also, volunteer will organize journalist club for 25 children from children day care centre, create short films together with children, families and employees in different themes. • Sports and helthy living: The volunteer will organize the activities for the children and their families within our facility (sports class) and using sports field premisses in the local neighbourhood (northern walking, football, aerobics, joga, physical excercises, orientation sports and other activities). This person will also go to the camps,excursions, trips, journeys together with other Family strenghtening programme co-workers. • Volunteer will be responsible for the area of arts: This person will plan, organize and lead cultural events, activities for the children and their parents and local community. The volunteer will also be responsinle for developing and activating local community and encourages the volunteering for the community. The mission is to strenghten and developing the community (including children and their families) through the development of their creative and cultural skills.
