Open letter to Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, EFDR foreign minister. Dear Minister: The ecstasy you enjoy turned agony when friends touch [Dont touch my lap, is that?] It has been a while since I started following your twitter and facebook activism, self promotion and personal experiences/ adventure. To start with positive compliments your both market-strategy and interaction with, reasonably saying, literate mass using web-based social medias could be considered as ground breaking/phenomenal move in your political party culture. It takes both gut and sort of genus for the most illiterate compatriots in the party to come out of their protective shields and interact both with their supporters and critics. this never been a trend specially using social medias as its beyond personal authority to espouse and copy the vertical power hierarchy in creating political dialogue and interact with the mass here on the cyber world. idea, level of articulation and evidences rule, not political authority and authoritative culture of the politicians. I might vehemently disagree with you and touch your nerve. you can do nothing about that. the most you can do is unfriending or deactivating me which is what I am equally previllaged to do. Considering undemocratic nature of the party, your move could be taken as a serious gear shift, a deserving bold attempt to come close to the people. that deserves recognition by itself and I am hereby endorsing your appearance on social media. However, it could also be taken as an opportunity to closely scrutinize the diverse political spectrum that are marginalized by the dominant eprdf; and people deep grievance, dissatisfaction and its intensity to your party multifacted incompetence, sociopolitical and economic injustices. any politician in the higher echelon like you that is overwhelmingly surrounded by cheering welcome, bowing heads and obedient fellas to any of your political majors without reservation could experience internal detrimental crises in an attempt to compromise the two worlds. that is what EPRDFites scare the most when it comes to discussing the mass openly in a democratic platform. the mare truth is that the cyber world is far explanatory than it seems in the small intolerable circle you are living in. the truth is there right in your threads. facing those graviences and taking side to justice is personal choice but with better or bad consquences in the process of self-promotion. I, for example, have stopped taking you seriously since after friends here on fb were jailed for no justifiable reasons which you chosed to pretend as if you knew nothing about it. if you have ever made informal/peculiar inspection towards the reaction rate by friends on fb and follower on twitter it comes vivid with days that there is a significant deprivation in pleasing comments and likes; and on the other hand influx of solid political questions and justice seeking roars. As I said once, two or three months before, its not that easy to survive facebook drumming same old rotten eprdf propaganda and bleeding ignorance. Dear Minister, charisma is not sufficient condition in Ethiopian politics to win public opinion. questions pondering before concluding my note: Many of our friends under informal umbrella called Zone9 who were as much dedicated as you are on fb are now jailed for no sensible reason. the ecstasy of technology you are enjoying is happened for them agony just because they promote their concern. none of them had ever made an attempt of promoting hate and intolerance, let alone plotting terrorism. Abraha Desta- unfortunate you are if you hadnt know of him- man of virtue and truth is locked behind bar for the fact that he was promoting his political ideology on fb and twitter. even though Tele provides irritatingly slow internet service and its unbearably tough to get reach his readers on fb, he was accused of fabricated charges and is destined to infamous Kality/Maekelawi. *** everyday you type your status updates, remember our friends who are in jail just because they hadnt been typing the same words as you do. Regards Benena Be facebook Serawit Sim :)
