Open letter to my State Senator: Dear Senator Negron, I was not at all surprised, but disappointed nonetheless, to learn that you voted in favor of SB 1714 yesterday, Tuesday, April 29, 2014. If signed into law, your vote for this bill would adversely affect three (there will soon be four) craft breweries located within your district, not to mention the dozens of other craft breweries throughout the Sunshine State. Your vote was a vote against small business and tourism both within your district and throughout Florida. With no credible House companion and only two days remaining in this session of the Florida State Legislature, SB 1714 has almost no chance of becoming law. I feel certain that being a man of great intelligence, you were aware of that when you cast your vote. You were likely doing something transparent and seemingly positive for a few of your larger campaign donors/contributors. You were probably only posturing. That is understandable. So please understand, when I vote in favor of your opponent this coming November, I also will only be posturing. Sincerely, Eric Starnes
